I’ve managed to pass that on to my kids.  So, we were very happy to accept a review copy of the latest edition of I Spy A to Z – A book of picture riddles. 

This book will keep multiple kids entertained for hours.  Readers and pre-readers alike can find the objects giving them a sense of accomplishment.  It’s a great way to engage kids with a book without reading an actual story.   Sometimes kids just can’t take a long story, they want to do the talking and pointing while you listen for a change.  I SPY is a perfect excuse for kids to show what they know since many objects in the book are familiar to them. 

I SPYbooks are great vocabulary builders,  there are so many objects to name, the alphabet, numbers and more!  I love to have I SPY books in the car for the kids, they come in handy for last minute doctor visits or other waiting room situations.   

Recommended for ages 4 and up.  Be sure to visit Scholastic’s I SPY website for fantastic games and activities. 

Easy-to-read riddles by Jean Marzollo are paired with forty-six object-filled photographs by Walter Wick to create I Spy A to Z, the most engaging alphabet book ever! The designer skin and the shape of the tub make it look so festive sitting up there on the counter!  The tagline, “Cleaning messes never looked better” is absolutely what I think when I reach for the wipes.  They’ve redesigned clean in a major way, now I don’t have to scramble to hide the wipes when company is coming over, I can just leave them up on their spot for all to see.  In a way it’s amazing that all household cleaning supplies haven’t, for the lack of a better term, dolled themselves up before.  I’m sure there are people who would prefer the plain old, clearly glaring labeled version but I think we as a people have evolved and want our surroundings to be pleasing to the eye yet practical and functional. 

For example, I keep my pantry items in big unlabeled containers, you won’t find any of those SUGAR, FLOUR, etc… things in my house.  I like the clean look, and luckily our main staple items are all in shades of white which I really like because it keeps my teeny weeny kitchen very light.  The only problem I’ve run into is with girl2006 thinking she can wipe her nose with the “pretty wipes” so be careful if you’ve got little ones!
