Last year I got two sets of Molly’s Tap Outfit and two of the ponies and some other little things but this year I was ready to strike and snag some more outfits.  I also stocked up on American Girl workbooks, girl2004 loves doing the ones she has now.  I picked up a few with my weekly coupons from Borders but that well has obviously run dry and I need to plan ahead.

I wanted to share what I purchased and also vent a bit about the ordering process!  I had a lot of trouble checking out because I updated the amount I wanted of each item but in the final page it separated the items so it was hard to be sure I was getting doubles of the things I wanted!  I’m guessing the easiest way would be to alphabetize everything at the end so customers could spot doubles easily — that would be the very least they could do for all the money spent on the website!

Another frustrating thing is I received a confirmation that I ordered pretty quickly but no detailed listing of what I bought came until 628 p.m. — that’s about 9 hours from the time I ordered!  Since I ordered in such a rush I couldn’t remember what I did get!  I’ve ordered several times before but never so much at one time so I never noticed all of these inconveniences.  There are only a few more hours of cyber Monday 2011 left but I hope you all can get some deals!

I never spent this much at one time but I enjoy playing with this stuff too so it’s for a great cause all around!  Here’s what I got myself them this time around:

I’ve seen so much of his business saavy and “it’s only business” attitude.  When he was younger he told me he was going to be like Mr. Howell (Gilligan’s Isand remember?)  and now I totally believe it!  He doesn’t always win but he’s very focused on getting a good deal and analyzing if it makes sense to keep cash or buy properties.  We’ve made a few variation but for the most part we’re trying to stick to the rules provided which are simple to follow or reference if you’re not sure.

If the game is too long  just keep some napkins or paper handy!  wrap up each players MONOPOLY cash and property and note which space the player is on.  Also take note of whose turn it is and any houses/hotels and pick up where you left off next time.

Extra trips to the grocery store usually spells extra stress at the checkout and the parking lot.  Cart Stopper has seriously come in handy!  My cart is stopped dead in it’s tracks!  No more worrying about my runaway groceries or crashing into a nearby vehicle when I get the Cart Stopper in place. 

The directions are simple, apply suction side to clean area on vehicle, then guide the latch through the cart.  When I first read the directions I was worried, most of the time my car has a nice layer of crud on it but I always have napkins in my purse so I just used one to clean a small spot to attatch the suction.  Worked perfectly!

If you’ve got little ones or just want to keep your cart in one place this is the product for you.  It’s really ashame that the stores don’t provide this type of thing on the carts, suctions on the front end of cart or at the handle bars would save many people heartache.  Our car was struck by a runaway cart a few years ago and broke out a headlight which I muscled the retailer to pay plus we got a $200 gift card.  Even though we were compensated it was still a headache to deal with.

Toobeez are a wonderful addition to your household this season.  It’s that time of year when we spend more time indoors and ponder how to keep the kids physically and mentally active.  With this set around there won’t be enough hours in the day to make all the things kids will want to make!

Toobeez click together, NO magnets to worry about losing or kids swallowing!  I thought it would be too hard for girl2006 but she even understands how to put in the tube and twist to assemble.  For boy2001 and girl2004 it’s a great lesson in construction!  a couple of things they made couldn’t stand up or weren’t big enough to hold all of them.

Another thing that required some forethought was that the tubes slip into the fabric inserts which I love, no clips to contend with! There are enough Toobeez in the set to make one big project at a time so I was interested in how well all three of my kids would work together.

I always have to watch boy2001 and girl2004 so that they’re not imposing on girl2006!  I’m happy to report that she’s holding her own and has gotten the set out on her own when brother and sister are at school to make things.

With families trying to do more with less, Toobeez is a great family gift.  Especially good as a gift for homes with more than one kid because all ages will enjoy building and imagining new creations.  Currently we’re using these inside but I can totally see us this summer making running hurdles on the lawn and mazes.

Thanks to the FRN we had the amazing pleasure of trying out the cutest shoes ever – Polliwalks! Girl2004 was the lucky recipient and she has REFUSED to wear anything else but the pink kitty shoes. I call her kitten as a nickname so she’s sure they are personally made for her!

There are all different types of characters and animals so have fun, look them in the eye and your’re sure to smile. Living in New England calls for the Polliwalks‘ furry clog but there are also non-lined shoes available for boys and girls.

The furry clogs are wonderfully warm and can take a beating. They’ve been to the park multiple times and preschool every single day since we got them and still look great.

Polliwalks add a little touch of fun to any outfit.

Just in case you didn’t know, pink is a neutral and girl2004 and girl2006 are convinced pink goes with anything!  Who am I to argue with a fun look?!

Another thing that’s nice with Polliwalks is the ‘footprinting bottom’.  We’ve experiemented a bit with the pawprints on the bottoms of the kitty shoes.  Make your mark with the bottoms of your shoes, everyone will know you were there.  Go through mudd, snow, wet sand with your animal side in a 100% vegan way.

All that aside, any woman will tell you, cute shoes are one thing but what about the fit?  Polliwalks are comfortable for her which makes me feel good because they fit her so well! The First Adventures of Incredible You

Three kids, seven years of motherhood and this is my first custom book! We’re very fond of reading in this house, granted the reading time seems to get squeezed tight lately but nonetheless, we do make our daily time to read.

Storybooks figure prominently but there’s nothing like a book that has your very own name, your siblings names, places you go and things you like to eat and see. Girl2004 was thrilled to see her name in lights and boy2001 and girl2006 were just as excited at the mention of their name in the story.

On top of that the illustrations are amazing, vibrant and colorful.  The thing I most like is the multicultural aspect of the book.  Most of the characters are colorful animals but there are human figures that cleverly appear in shadow, or with backs turned making this the perfect gift for any family you know.

The process @ Custom Made Kids is simple, just go to the website and carefully answer the questions about siblings, parents, dates of birth, etc… We received our book within days of order but that might not always be the case.

The First Adventures of Incredible You is carried at Pottery Barn Kids and at Custom Made for Kids.

Deliveries to the Continental U.S. must be placed by Sunday 12/14/08 for arrival by Christmas (Canada/Hawaii/Alaska orders should be placed by 12/07/08)!
