Manic Monday Meme 1/28/2008 I had to repost

January 28, 2008

***in case you commented the first time around, I had to go through my cache and repost this because many of my posts were lost when I messed with my SteepingBeauty theme.  I could not get the comments back, but try really hard to remember what you may have said.***

If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do?

I would have them do laundry: sorting, loading, drying, ironing, folding and putting away, kind of tight for an hour but…

Has your life ever been changed by an apparently random occurrence?

Yes, more times than I probably even imagine.  I won’t go into all the particulars to protect the innocent…

You’re having dinner with several friends and acquaintances. They all criticize a close friend of yours (not knowing he/she is a friend). The criticism is unjustified. What would you do?
If I truly felt it was unjustified I would speak out without hesitation.  This has happenned to me a lot between all the mommy groups I deal with.  If I believe it’s justified I let them know that I know that person has those qualities but they make up or it with their (insert positive).  I really don’t like to get involved in petty things and bad mouthing people.  The whole thing makes me uncomfortable… to me it would be very different if it was a close family member that was being talked about.

Thanks for the great meme Manic Monday!!

Dawn Direct Foam Challenge and Test

January 26, 2008

dawndirectfoam.jpgI have been using Dawn Direct Foam for over a month now.  I love my dishwasher but it does get old bending down all the time to cram everything in there and then have to be left without utensils while it’s washing is even more annoying.   So, what’s a mom to do? when I need dishes fast it is definately easier to get out the dishsoap and get to work.

The complaints of the past were that dishes were still greasy after hand washing, most soaps were not good at cutting the grease, especially on plastic – Dawn Direct Foam is specially formulated to cut the grease.  What’s more you won’t have to keep on pumping to get that effect.  Just one pump is enough to do a whole sinkload of dishes.  The scent is pleasant and the pumping action works well.

The only thing that I would like to change about this product is the packaging.  My sink sits directly in the line of sight of my front door.  I don’t like to keep things on the counter that don’t look pretty, I really wish the bottle was in glass or if the soap could be a cuter color that would be great!

so much to blog about…

well, here I am finally, I promised myself I’d get back to this blog, the move from blogger really took a lot out of me but here I am again!!

I’ve been busy purging my home of so much stuff you just wouldn’t believe what I could fit into 1600 square feet and crawl spaces, a basement, over the garage, you name it, stuff and more stuff!! it just never ends… the saddest part is I’m really attached to my stuff so it’s been emotional getting rid of a lot of it.

Anyway, I’ve been working a lot on Steeping Beauty Blog and getting ready for fashion week which will be here faster than I know it.

Boy2001 has grown in leaps and bounds, tonight he read to me out of a level 3 book so I was so thrilled I told him we’d celebrate big time tomorrow.  He’s really happy because he knows how important it is to me that he reads on his own… with the little ones I just don’t get enough one on one time with him to read so he HAS to be able to.

Bugaboo Creek Steak House

January 6, 2008

dsc00676.JPG

If I was a blogger 5 years ago you’d have seen pictures of us once or twice a week enjoying the restaurant Bugaboo Creek.  Now of course we have less money for eating out and the bill tends to run much higher for 5 so you might catch us in there every 3 or 4 months to enjoy a great steak and some fun times.  The kids feel like they’re royalty in here,

Black Magic Steak

The bread is hot and it’s very family friendly with big oversized booths and a talking moose.

fresh and I almost always get the Black Magic Steak with smashed potato and caesar salad with extra dressing (they really skimp on dressing nowadays so I ask for extra on the side).  We used to always get the cheesecake and share it but they discontinued it, they brought it back and I think it’s gone again… oh well, I just had to settle on the Chocolate Moose Pie.
