I always found the name of this place interesting, most ‘museums’ don’t let you touch anything. At the Children’s Museum it’s just the opposite! kids are encouraged to touch and explore everything.
Here are some pics from the Children’s Museum of Maine. It’s a really great museum for little kids in Portland. We try to go every other week.
There are always new exhibits but the kids seem to love the static activities like the farm and the grocery. There’s a little area for the infants and toddlers so they can get their own time.
Another favorite is the touch tank, my girls love to touch the different creatures in there.
