I’ve been out all day, just got back from The Children’s Museum, sorry no pics because I forgot my camera – AGAIN! They will have to wait til next week.
There is so much to see and do over there, all the kids love going. They each run in their own direction, I just make sure that I can pretty much see/hear everyone and rotate from one to the other. Girl2006 usually toddles right behind and boy2001 is pretty good on his own so I stick near girl2004 as she’s the wild one of the bunch. The rule is we stay on the same floor.
Today there was a nice story time about a bear and they had some yummy buttery popcorn. We also got to make finger puppets and paint with ice cubes with watercolor paint which was really nice. They basically made ice cubes mixed in some water color paint and put in a popsicle stick as a handle.
I think it’s really good to work in different mediums so I love to see creative ways to get the children interested in different types of art. After that we went to the Portland Museum of Art’s lobby ( I am NOT brave enough to attempt the entire museum alone) or at least without having the younger two captives of the stroller. For today I was content to get some nice brochures with activities for kids, we’ll call it prepwork for an upcoming visit.
I’ll be back later…
