That Baby DVD and CD Musical Notes

May 2nd, 2008

That Baby CD & DVD

Do your children like to sing? Do they like you to sing?  During a recent moms meeting several moms revealed that their kids hated when they sang and asked them to stop.  I couldn’t believe it, my kids have always responded very well to my singing even though I can’t carry a note in a cup.

I started out singing to all of them very early on and listening to their vocal attempts (attempts because their singing is almost as bad as mine).  We sing all kinds of things like Christmas songs in July and we often sing themes to t.v. shows we like and watch together like the Flintstones and Gilligan’s Island.

As a matter of fact I think there are two different types of people in the world. Those that like music and those that like tv videos.  I like having the CD and we have listened to it a few times in the car but for us, car time is basically quiet time since we don’t travel more than 15 minutes each way it’s a nice time for us to reflect and talk about the things we come across.  If we go on a roadtrip it’s totally different, we need music like fuel, but for everyday we get a lot more use out of the DVD.  girl2004 usually puts in what she wants during tv time and she has stopped Strawberry Shortcake and put in That Baby DVD which is saying a LOT for a 3 year old that loves Strawberry berry much.

For myself, I enjoy having things in our home that cross generations and bring us together as a family, That Baby DVD & CD are just that type of product - classic.  The visuals are stimulating and interesting to young children.  Mine stop and stare at the screen like deer in the headlights.  Need to see for yourself? Check out the sample vid.

I would also highly recommend That Baby CD for grandparent and grandchild together time, I’m already jumping ahead to the holiday season I guess! And while we’re on the forever upcoming holiday season and gift giving… That Baby DVD and CD would be a fab gift for that 2nd, 3rd, or 4th child’s arrival.  It’s technically for the baby but preschool siblings would be thrilled and it would give the new parents some breathing room to care for the new baby.  So think ahead and taking advantage of a great deal just for you on a product that will become ‘That Baby DVD” and “That Baby CD”.

text: am I the only one on the planet

May 1st, 2008

I am convinced I’m the only one on the planet that doesn’t know how to text.  So many people text me and I can’t stand it because it takes me so long to type out the tiniest little message.  We know we’re getting boy2001 a phone next year and I bet he’ll be texting before I do! I have a razor now but I might try and upgrade to a blackberry or pearl to see if that’s easier to understand.

what have I been up to

April 28th, 2008

I’ve been busy doing things here and there.  We spent the day visiting a friend in the hospital, thankfully she’s recovering well.  Then we went to another friend’s house to plant her plant boxes.  She really loves mine every year and every year I go over to her house and do her little planters for her porch and she loves them.

I’ll be back soon.

Deliver Me and PBN

A girlfriend will tell you that your children are not a distraction, they are companions of life.

Instead of viewing them as interruptions into our daily activities let them participate and live, don’t shelter them too much or try to control their lives.

I wish I could tell most of the moms I see, lighten up, smile, laugh, tickle your child.  They seem so caught up in keeping up with other people and comparing their kids.  Your kids were made special and their is NO comparison to others, give them roots and wings before they head out into the world.

Check out other posts at the PBN and the new television series, Deliver Me, on the Discovery Health Channel Tuesday @ 10 p.m.

oh no this is what I did

March 30th, 2008

NOTHING!

today was super boring, we left late so I didn’t get to do anything in Portland, I’d planned to get the MAC Heatherette collection in my brain but that didn’t happen.  We just went to dinner, DSW for two pair shoes — too cute! and the Dollar Store.

Other than that I poured over my SEPHORA beauty book and *really* wanted to buy new make up today!  uggh, I’m so irritated because I have to wait until next week - gas is so expensive, I def can’t swing new makeup PLUS gas!

Tomorrow I’m totally re-organizing boy2001’s room, his stuff is totally out of control, waaaay too many legos.  The crazy thing is he knows all the pieces that go together.  He digs through this humongous treasure chest and finds some little obscure piece and knows that’s the right one.  It’s crazy, how do kids do it?  We’ve been calling him “the Professor” lately… remember we’re Gilligan’s Island fans?  He is so into building things and using big words, he’s been totally cracking me up lately!

 Until next time…

Horton Hears a Who!

March 26th, 2008

Dr. Seuss Horton Hears a

We saw Horton Hears a Who last weekend, we loved it.  I must admit I’m not a fan of Dr. Seuss books but after 7 plus years reading them they are growing on me.  I’m not sure what it is but I’m not crazy about all the rhyming and nonsensical words - I know that’s the point of Dr Seuss!

Horton Hears a Who! has some dry spots (don’t all these animated movies?) but overall it was great family fun.  FYI none of the kids have talked about this movie, usually they are bugging me by now to re-watch movies we go see.  I love the message, a person’s a person no matter how small.
